A Wilkes-Barre man is dead after the water truck he was driving in Susquehanna County ran over him.

Pennsylvania State Police say 51 year old David Nesbitt was driving slowly on Quarry road in Springville Township at around 10 p.m. December 10 when the water tanker began to slide as he was descending a snow-covered hill.

The truck slid off the road and went into a ditch.

Nesbitt then got out of the vehicle for an unknown reason while it was still moving and fell under it before the tanker hit a tree and came to a stop.

Nesbitt was pronounced dead at the scene.
