Every week thousands of people enjoy the Vestal Rail Trail.  Some walk, some run.  You'll see bicyclists and roller-bladers.  People of all ages.

When you are on the Trail there is a good chance you'll see some wildlife, too.  Squirrels and chipmunks are commonly scene.  An occasional rabbit may be spotted as well.  Those who begin their visit to the Trail at the west end near the Coal House will usually see at lease a couple of groundhogs browsing near marshland.

Now, visitors may see a turtle or several turtles roaming through the grass not far from the paved walkway surface.  This weekend many walkers stopped to see the newcomers.  Some snapped photos with their cell phones.  The nearby marshland offers plenty of cover for adults and baby turtles alike.
