The Zoning Board of Appeals is scheduled to meet Thursday evening to review the proposal to expand the Hayes Student Living facility.

Developer Jeffrey Feinberg wants to construct 225 more units to expand the complex on Plaza Drive and Country Club Road. The additional apartments would raise the total units to 409.

Many residents who live near the project site spoke out against the plan when the board met last month.

Feinberg is seeking permission to move forward with the expansion although it would exceed height restrictions and not meet town parking requirements.

The board meeting will be held Thursday at 6 p.m.in the board room of Vestal Town Hall. It's not known whether the board will approve some or all of the variances being sought by the developer.

People opposing the project have not decided whether they will pursue legal action to stop the project if town officials authorize it.
