Two Pedestrians Hit By Vehicle In Tioga County

Two people walking along Glenmary Drive in the town of Tioga were hit by a vehicle. One of those struck was seriously hurt.

Authorities say it happened late Friday morning when a northbound vehicle hit the pedestrians who were walking south on the east shoulder of the roadway.

Investigators say one of those struck - 21-year-old Autumn Zendarski of Waits Road, Owego - was hospitalized with serious injuries.

According to the Tioga County Sheriff's Office, the vehicle was driven by 58-year-old Wayne Mashas of Catlin Hill Road, Owego.

Mashas was charged with failure to use due care for pedestrians.
