Triangle Woman Banks on Deceased Relative’s Account

A Northern Broome County woman is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from M&T Bank using a dead relative’s account information.

57 year old Patricia DeGroat of Triangle allegedly got about $5,800 from several bank branches over the course of three months by making withdrawals on the deceased relative’s account.

She’s charged with two counts of felony grand larceny and one count of petit larceny.

DeGroat has been ordered to appear in court at a later date.
