Trees Planted Near Binghamton Highway Project

Dozens of trees are being planted in Binghamton adjacent to the Prospect Mountain project at the junction of Route 17 and Interstate 81.

Workers began the plantings this week along Prospect Street, west of the Front Street intersection.

Several varieties of trees were delivered to the area. Among them are oak, elm, cherry, Norway spruce, white spruce, crab apple, shadblow and flowering dogwood.

About 100 trees were expected to be planted as part of the landscaping work in conjunction with the ongoing highway project.
