Traffic Detoured On Binghamton’s Front Street

Drivers can expect delays on a section of Front Street in Binghamton on Monday and Tuesday.

Construction crews on Friday began utility work in preparation of a project that will lower the road surface under two railroad bridges north of Clinton Street.

Part of Front Street near the Broome County Health Department offices is to be closed while water lines are being replaced.

Front Street between Clinton and Gaines streets will be out of service for motorists because of the utility work.

Drivers are being urged to use alternate routes to avoid congestion around the work zone.

Additional construction is scheduled to occur over the summer as part of the Front Street Gateway Project.
