Tractor Trailer Fire Closes I81 in New Milford

Pennsylvania State Police report Interstate 81 South was closed a mile marker 221 near New Milford exit #223 due to a tractor trailer fire at around 7 a.m. (October 10).

State Police were working to get highway message boards activated to direct traffic onto Route 11 to detour around the scene.

There is no word at this time concerning injuries, the nature of the materials the tractor trailer is carrying and if hazardous materials could be involved.
