Authorities say a town of Union man was arrested after he called a child protective services hotline to report he had provided alcohol and marijuana smoking devices to minors.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, 41-year-old Thomas Colasanto said he had given alcohol and bongs to teenagers over the past year.

Deputies say Colasanto told them he called the child protective agency to demonstrate to the minors what could happen to them if they were caught drinking alcohol or smoking marijuana.

Colasanto has been charged with misdemeanor child endangerment. He was released on an appearance ticket for Union town court.
