Delaware County Sheriff’s officials are looking for someone who stole a giant rake from the Town of Hancock Highway Department.

The York-brand, eight foot wide tow-rake disappeared from a highway pull off near the intersection of Charles Medlar and Bert Medlar Roads between July 3 and July 10.

The contraption has wheels and a pintle tow hitch.

Anyone who knows who has the equipment is asked to contact the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office at (607) 832-5555, call Deputy Eric Alexander at 287-4759 or email the deputy at eric.alexander@co.delaware.ny.us.

The Sheriff’s office is also asking residents in that area to be on the lookout for any unusual activity, vehicles or people due to a recent increase in thefts and burglaries at homes in the southeastern part of the Town of Hancock, primarily between County Highway 17 and the Sullivan County border in the East Branch/Fishs Eddy area.
