Tioga County Man Accused of Stealing Jobless Benefits

A Candor man was sent to jail after he was arrested for allegedly receiving unemployment insurance benefits to which he was not entitled.

Authorities say 54-year-old Thane King was accused of stealing $6,261 over the last two years.

King was arrested by New York State Police on Wednesday. He was charged with felony grand larceny.

King was arraigned in Owego town court and sent to Tompkins County Jail on $10,000 bail.
