A man accused of stabbing a Binghamton man at the Broome County Public Library in a reported dispute over a small amount of money will be spending three and a half years in prison.

51 year old Wilfredo Hernandez stabbed 30 year old Kendu Johnson in the chest in January and Police say he was preparing to flee to New York City when he was caught.

He was originally charged with attempted murder and pleaded guilty to attempted assault.

Hernandez was sentenced to the state prison time and five years post-released supervision in Broome County Court.
