Three people are being accused of breaking into vehicles in the Chenango Bridge area over the past several weeks.

Broome County Sheriff's officials say an alert citizen contacted authorities at around 5 a.m. August 6 reporting a suspicious vehicle in an area where several cars had previously been broken into.

18 year old Damian Wilmarth of Chenango Forks, 24 year old Zeke Wilmarth of Binghamton and 16 year old James Wilson of Port Crane are accused of stealing long guns, ammunition and magazines, two laptop computers, prescription medication, money and jewelry.

Damian Wilmart is charged with two counts of criminal possession of stolen property, conspiracy and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Zeke Wilmarth is charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of stolen property, conspiracy, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a weapon.

Wilson is charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of stolen property, conspiracy and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The deputy said a large amount of stolen property taken from unlocked vehicles was found when he stopped the reported suspicious vehicle.  The vehicle was also said to be stolen.

All three suspects were sent to the Broome County Jail.

Broome County Sheriff's officials remind residents to keep their vehicles and homes locked and to report suspicious activity and individuals t6o law enforcement officials.
