Broome County Sheriff’s officials say they have made two arrests in connection with the theft of items from unlocked vehicles in the Town of Chenango.

Officials say they were called to Hoffman Drive in Chenango Bridge at around 2:30 a.m. on November 4th for a report of someone going through cars.

The responding deputy says he saw a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the area.

Deputy Joshua Davidson stopped the vehicle and says he found several of the possible stolen items in the car.

18-year-old Anthony Sanford of Vestal and 21-year-old Dylan Jones of Vestal are being held in connection with the thefts.

The deputy says he found Sanford had a wallet with contents that indicated it did not belong to him as well as a lady’s purse, a laptop and tablet, a GPS and several pair of sunglasses.

The owner of the wallet was found but deputies ask anyone missing property from vehicles in the Chenango Bridge area to call 778-1911 and leave a message for Deputy Davidson.

Sanford is charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property.

Jones is charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property and misdemeanor counts of criminal impersonation, forgery and a violation of a probation warrant.
