Seven Graduate the Binghamton Firefighter Academy

Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]While dozens of men and women have become new police officers in the region, graduating November 13 from the Police Academy, another half dozen recruits are joining the ranks of local fire companies.

Seven graduates got their certification the same day from the Binghamton Fire Department Academy.

The training program took 15 weeks.

Several family members in attendance said they were proud at the dedication of the graduates to run toward danger while others flee.

The men and women graduating will be on probationary status for nine months.
