Last weekend over 2,000 walkers took part in the 27th Annual Southern Tier Heart Walk and this weekend it is time for runners to help in the fight against heart disease and stroke.  The Run for Your Heart Coal House 5K  will be held on the Vestal Rail Trail this Sunday, April 17th.  The event gets underway and ends at the Coal House on the west end of the original Rail Trail.

This is the Fifth Annual Run for Your Heart 5K.  It is held on the heels of the Heart Walk and proceeds also go to help the American Heart Association in research and advocacy in the fight against heart disease and stroke.

The run gets underway at 1:00 PM.  Registration procedures and additional information can be found at triplecitiesrunnersclub.org.  Mark Mushalla, the director of the run will talk about fund-raiser Thursday morning at 8:20 AM with Roger Neel on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
