A South Waverly man is being held in the Bradford County jail following a standoff with Sayre, Pennsylvania State Police and other agencies that lasted through the night and into the morning.

62 year old Timothy Murphy was finally taken into custody shortly before 8:00 a.m.

Police say Murphy barricaded himself inside a home on Williams Street and there was at least one gun believed in the house.

Streets around the house were bocked off and the Sayre Area Schools were placed on two hour delay in opening as a precaution.

Murphy is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He's being held on $200,000 bail.

The investigation continues.
