Red Cross Shortage

The American Red Cross is facing a shortage of several blood types and is asking the public for help.  According to American Red Cross officials there is an urgent need for eligible donors with O negative, B Negative and A negative blood.  Platelet donors and type AB blood donors are also being urged to donate.

The American Red Cross is looking to prevent an emergency situation and asking the public to act now before there is an urgent situation that develops.  Summer can be a difficult time to keep up with blood needs. Families go on vacations, change routines and face busy schedules which may preclude taking the time to donate blood and platelets.
