Travelers on Conklin Avenue in Binghamton this morning had to detour around a paving project that according to mobile reporters stretched from the Exchange Street Bridge to Hall Street.  Binghamton Police say traffic was being diverted onto Livingston Street to detour around the project.

Conklin Avenue had been milled earlier in preparation for the paving work.  It is expected to be completed later today.

Other travel issues in Binghamton include Riverside Drive from Front Street to Oak Street.  Police told WNBF News this morning that there was single lane traffic moving through that area and reminded motorists to watch for signs denoting the detour area.

NYSDOT officials also remind drivers that in effect until 3 PM today there is single lane traffic on route 17 East from Route 71/Airport Road to Exit 72/Front Street.  Another major paving project is ongoing reconstruction and paving work on Route 434 stretching from the Tioga County line to the City of Binghamton border. Most of the work is being done in the evening and overnight hours.
