Owego Man’s Body Found On Riverbank

Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]Owego police say a village man's body was found along the shore of the Susquehanna River.

Authorities say 64-year-old Anthony Smith of Academy Street had been reported missing late Thursday afternoon.

Smith's body was discovered in Draper Park on a riverbank shortly after a search had started.

Police say the body was located near the Court Street Bridge, not far from the Owego Riverwalk.

Investigators did not discuss a possible cause of death.
