New York State Police say they traced cloned credit cards to Onondaga County where they arrested 34 year old Michael Webb of Owego for felony forgery, two felony counts of possession of a forged instrument and misdemeanor identity theft.

Troopers say Webb is accused of buying items with the cloned cards containing stolen personal account information.  More arrests are expected.

Webb was sent to the Onondaga County Justice Center.

State Police remind people to safeguard all personal account information and check credit reports frequently to help prevent identity theft.

The investigation also included work by the Village of North Syracuse Pollice and Dewitt Police Department.
