A public budget workshop is scheduled for 6 p.m. May 28 in the district offices to go over the options.  The board of education is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. May 30.

Owego Apalachin was the only district in the Southern Tier to have its proposed budget voted down.  The spending plan held the tax increase within the allowable New York State tax cap of 3.83% on the levy but still failed to pass with the required simple majority.

The district could present the same proposal for another vote June 18, put a revised budget before voters or go directly to a contingency budget.
