The board is to hold a budget workshop Thursday evening. The meeting will start at 6:30 in the Owego Free Academy large group instruction hall.

The district's tentative budget calls for spending about $42.1 million dollars. That would be a slight decrease in spending compared to the current school year.

Some adjustments in spending and the expected property tax rate changes now that the district knows how much state aid to expect.

A public hearing on the district's proposed budget has been scheduled for May 7.

School district residents will vote on the spending plan on May 20. That's the statewide date for budget votes in about 700 New York school districts.
