Sentry Alarms is providing a monitoring system so visitors to the Ross Park Zoo in Binghamton can see the new River Otter pups that were born about a month and a half ago.

The viewing monitor is similar to one that was installed at the Red Panda exhibit in June.

The baby otters now have names with the winning suggestions being Arya, Edgar and Ottawa.

Zoo officials say 1,600 entries were submitted and the winners will have an opportunity to meet and greet the little otters when they become more independent from their mother, Elaine.

The new viewing station, looking in on the nesting box, is located on the top floor of the Woodland Waters building at the otter overlook.

In upcoming weeks, the family will be reunited with daddy otter, Leroy, who has been kept away from the mother and babies.

More information on the otters and the Binghamton zoo on Morgan Road on the South Side can be found at www.rossparkzoo.com.
