Operation Christmas Child Starts Collections

Operation Christmas Child that provides gift-filled shoeboxes to children around the world is starting local collections.

The official collection site is Calvary Community Church on Harry L. Drive in Johnson City.

This is the 12^th year in the Southern Tier that Operation Christmas Child has collected toys, school supplies, hygiene items, clothing and other gifts packed in shoeboxes and sent to children in over 100 countries.

The program is operated through the leadership of Samaritan’s Purse.

Calvary Community Church will accept donations until November 23.

The full collection schedule for the rest of the month:

11/18 6:30-8:30 p.m.

11/19 3-6 p.m.

11/20 3-6 p.m.

11/21 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

11/22 1-4 p.m.

11/23 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
