Oktoberfest at Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Route 26 in Maine wrapped up today.  The traditional final outdoor festival in our area drew thousands over the weekend with what some organizers were calling record attendance.

Oktoberfest started on Friday evening, went from Noon - 11 PM Saturday and concluded with today's hours of 11 AM - 5 PM.  Visitors come from all around the area with some marking the weekend on their calendar and returning from other states to see family and friends who they know will be at the festival.

Volunteers work countless hours preparing for the annual event.  Jim Tokos heads up the food preparation.  Along with hamburgers, hot dogs, spiedies and pizza,  Most Holy Rosary serves up delicious Peroghi, Haluski and Halupki and their signature delight...Clam Chowder.  Tokos estimates they prepared over 150 gallons of Chowder and still sold out.

Along with all the food Oktoberfest featured music Friday night, all day Saturday and wrapped up with Remedy performing today.  There were games for the kids, a bake sale and basket raffle and something new...train rides for the kids.

For those planning already for 2015...mark your calendar for October 2, 3 and 4.  That's when it will be Oktoberfest again !!!!  It's on my calendar already.  See you there !
