An Apalachin man, who was stopped by Broome County Sheriff’s officials for an equipment violation, is in the Broome County Jail awaiting extradition to North Carolina.

Officials say their investigation following the December 28th traffic stop on Delaware Avenue in Endwell found 32 year old Steven Mincey was not only driving without a license but was wanted in North Carolina for felony assault with inflicting serious bodily injury in connection with an attempted murder stabbing and parole violation.

Authorities say Mincey reportedly fled North Carolina in April and moved to New York State.
