Local law enforcement agencies are reporting few problems with revelers on New Year's Eve.  Several agencies over the holiday conducted sobriety checkpoints.

38-year-old Tairla Powell of Johnson City is charged with driving while intoxicated and refusing to take a breathalyzer test after she was stopped on Main Street in the village.

18-year-old Bryan Novitske of Binghamton has been charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of alcohol under the age of 21.  He was the passenger in a vehicle that was also stopped at the Main Street checkpoint.

Powell was sent to the Broome County Jail on one-thousand dollars bail.  Novitske was issued an appearance ticket for next week in Johnson City Court.
