Muslim Community Center Planned in Vestal

A Muslim community center may be built in the town of Vestal.

The 2640-square-foot facility is being proposed for property at the southeast corner of Route 26 and Sheedy Road.

The site is directly across from the India Cultural Centre, which is located on the northeast corner at the intersection.

Plans for the Muslim community center were submitted to the town on January 31.

The town planning board is scheduled to discuss the project at 7:30 tonight.

The Vestal doctor who submitted the application for the community center to the town was not immediately available to provide more information on the plans.
