Marijuana Wax Appears Again in Broome County

New York State Police say they are starting to encounter a never-before-seen illegal substance in the area.

In a matter of a few days, authorities made arrests in the region and found concentrated marijuana wax, which they say is gaining in popularity.

New York State Police say they found the substance recently during a drug raid at a Town of Windsor home where they also confiscated 23 marijuana plants.

January 24, troopers stationed at the Gateway Rest Stop say they found it again as they stopped a vehicle for speeding on Interstate 81 in the Town of Dickinson.

Troopers say 20 year old Jamie Bernstein of Belle Harbor, New York and 19 year old Louis Cohen of RockawayPark are charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and underage possession of alcohol.

In addition to the concentrated marijuana, authorities say they found the couple had a bottle of whiskey in the vehicle.
