A Binghamton man died after he was shot several times in a neighborhood on the city's West Side.

Authorities said 22-year-old Brandon Hernandez was gunned down in a parking lot of an after-hours club at 56 Orton Avenue.

City police were called at 4:55 a.m. Saturday to investigate a report of shots fired in the area of Orton Avenue just south of Main Street.

Investigators said officers found Hernandez laying in the parking lot. He was rushed to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City. He was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later.

Detectives did not release any information about the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting or how many people may have been involved in the incident.
