Taxes are due to go up in the Maine Endwell School District, but will remain within the state-set ceiling.

The Board of Education has approved a final budget proposal that comes in at just over $45.7 with a tax levy of 2.15%.

The plan is $800,000 heavier than the current budget and looks to spend more on student programs.

A year ago, ME was struggling with a financial crisis and sliced over six dozen jobs.

A public hearing on the current budget proposal will be held may 8th.  School budget votes across New York State go up for a vote on May 20.
