The City of Binghamton has taken aim at another blighted or dilapidated property.

Binghamton Mayor Richard David’s office says the Mayor was be joined by New York State Senator Fred Akshar, who secured $300,000 in state funding, United Way of Broome County Executive Director Robin Alpaugh and Visions Federal Credit Union CEO Tyrone Muse to start the demolition of a property on Liberty Street on the North Side.

The demolition is making way for a $450,000 planned massive expansion project for the Lee Barta Community Center that will triple the size of the North Side gathering spot.
