Drivers who plan to travel through the Prospect Mountain Project work zone in Binghamton should be prepared for lane restrictions and possible delays.

According to the state Department of Transportation, Route 17 eastbound will be reduced to one lane between Airport Road (Exit 71) and Front Street (Exit 72) from Wednesday evening through early Thursday morning.

Crews plans to do make sign modifications from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting.

A similar lane restriction is planned for daytime work on Thursday. Officials say from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., workers will move concrete barriers, replace existing pavement markings and change signs.
