A judge says he will issue a decision soon on a lawsuit filed by parents in the Harpursville School District against the Board of Education.

The group, called ‘School Transparency Organization for Parents’, or “STOP” claims the board routinely violated open meeting laws, mismanaged the budget and made personnel appointments without public knowledge or input.

The School Board maintains it followed all regulations, including when it sent a letter to parents in January telling them W.A. Olmstead Elementary School Assistant Principal Lori Boman was being fired and Principal Joshua Quick reassigned.

Judge Ferris Lebous heard arguments in the New York State Supreme Court of Broome County September 1 and said he’d have a decision in upcoming weeks.
