A Binghamton teen and a Johnson City man are free to await a court date after being arrested for alleged drug possession.

Johnson City Police say they arrested 18-year-old Jermori Mills and 20-year-old Damien Marrero on two felony counts each of drug possession and felony evidence tampering.

Village Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by Marrero on Laurel Street for a traffic violation on Tuesday, February 22. As the officer was talking to Mills, he saw Marrero remove something from his pocket and tried to conceal it.  The officer was able to retrieve the item and too both Marrero and Mills into custody.

Police say they seized over 10 grams of cocaine and over $2,900 in cash.

The pair was charged then released in accordance with New York State bail reform laws.
