The Johnson City Police Association is selling memorial pins honoring Police Officer David Smith, who was killed in the line of duty March 31.

The pins, featuring a police badge with tape across it, embossed with Smith’s name and EOW March 31, 2014, standing for End of Watch and the date the veteran officer was shot to death across from Wilson Hospital, are being sold at the police station.

The pins are being sold for $3.  Window stickers honoring Officer Smith are also being sold for $1.

The money is to go toward a memorial for Smith and other programs that will be started in his name.

The pins can be purchased at the Johnson City Police Department front desk between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Officer Smith was shot to death at Southern Tier Imaging when he responded to a call about an employee that was acting strangely.

The shooter, James Clark of Greene, was fatally wounded in a shootout with another responding officer.

The investigation into the incident is still on-going.
