Johnson City Assault Arrest

Johnson City Police say a Village man is accused of assaulting his girlfriend, cutting her with a knife.

50 year old Joseph Fehrman is charged with felony counts of assault, criminal possession of a weapon and strangulation.  He's also charged with misdemeanor menacing and criminal mischief.

Police say October 27, shortly before 3:30 p.m., Fehrman choked his girlfriend, prevented her from calling police or leaving the home and cutting her.

The woman was taken to Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Fehrman was sent to the Broome County Jail.
