JC Alerts Water Customers to Repair Coverage Offer

The Johnson City water department is advising people served by the village system that they aren't required to purchase repair coverage for water lines.

The department today issued a notice indicating that a company called HomeServe USA Repair Management Corp. has been mailing solicitations to Johnson City water customers.

According to village officials, the company is offering water service repair coverage.

The solicitation is not affiliated with the Johnson City water department and it's not endorsed by the department or the village.

The department reminds customers that the cost of needed repairs to a service line from the water shutoff to the building are the responsibility of the customer.
