A Cortland County woman is facing several charges after Sheriff’s officials say they were called shortly after 5:30 p.m. New year’s Eve for a report of a car in a field.

Deputies say they found 35 year old Kathleen Stauber of Homer still in the vehicle, about 100 yards off Sweeny Road in Cortlandville.

The officer said Stauber wasn’t hurt but was allegedly intoxicated.

Stauber was arrested and reportedly spit in the back seat of the Deputy’s patrol car while being transported to the Cortland County Jail.

The woman is charged with speeding, reckless driving, disobeying a traffic control device, refusing to submit to a breath screening device, driving while intoxicated and criminal tampering in connection with the spitting incident.

Stauber was sent to the Cortland County Jail on $1,5000 bail.
