For the first time in the history of the local public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up, a book author makes a return appearance, with Binghamton University Professor, Dr. Elizabeth Tucker talking about her 2011 book: Haunted Southern Tier, exploring local ghost stories and lore.

Tucker shares some new stories, including some surrounding apparition sightings at local bars as well as just of the few of the many tales involving the Roberson Mansion in Binghamton.

Dr. Tucker also offers some insight into why ghost stories get started and continue to be repeated over the years.

Dr.Tucker was the first author invited appear on Southern Tier Close Up, which normally concentrates on local issues, charities and events, but does not promote book sales.

So, does Dr. Tucker believe in ghosts? Find out on Southern Tier Close Up Saturday afternoon at 12:10 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.

Haunted Southern Tier is available online and at some local book stores.
