Green Man Park Development Discussed
Binghamton City Council is holding a special business meeting to talk about the redevelopment of a lot at the corner of Court and State Streets that one housed an office building and is currently green space.
The site once housed offices and was decorated with historic “grotesques” known as Green Man. It also was the site of the “Occupy Binghamton” movement for several weeks.
Currently, Greater Binghamton LLC is proposing building a five-story, mixed use structure on the site that would include retail, office and housing space.
Greater Binghamton LLC put in a winning high bid of $75,000 for the property and estimated the development costs at $3.5 million to $4 million.
