12 area sports greats were inducted into the Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame Monday night in ceremonies at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Binghamton.  Over 300 people were on hand for dinner and to honor some of this area's finest athletes of all time.  Many turned out to meet and speak with New York Yankees' General Manager Brian Cashman who was the keynote speaker for the event.

New inductees include: William Anthony "Wild Bill" Hallahan, Steve Kraly and Jack Sharkey, all inducted posthumously.  Also inducted were:  Dick Barvinchak, Mike Dunham, Billy Gabor, Jim and Mike Lee, Troy Nickerson, Chuck Rolles, Chris Snee and Shirley Smith Sullivan.

The 2016 inductions bring the total members to 28 in the Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame.  Last year, the inaugural year of the event, 16 honorees were inducted.  Award plaques from the Class of 2015 are on display near Macy's in the Oakdale Mall.
