The Annual Garlic Festival continues until 5 PM today and runs from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM tomorrow (Sunday).  There was a line of visitors at the American Civic Association, 131 Front Street in Binghamton, this morning when the doors opened.  Hundreds of people from all over the area visited today.

People enjoyed various ethnic foods at the food court while many shopped for crafts, produce and of course garlic.  Numerous vendors were on hand selling different types of garlic and answering questions about cooking and adding garlic to recipes.

One of the most popular items at the food court is garlic ice cream.  The ice cream is vanilla flavored with garlic mixed in and provides a tasty treat and is definitely a major topic of conversation.

People of all ages attend and are welcome.  Admission is $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children under 12.  Children five and under are free of any admission charge.  Proceeds from the two-day event help fund various projects and services offered at the American Civic Association.
