An investigation into a suspicious vehicle parked along Fairview Avenue at the Kirkwood town line shortly before 1 a.m. May 21 has resulted in charges against a Binghamton man.

Broome County Sheriff’s officials say a Deputy checked on the occupied vehicle and observed several people inside with open, partially consumed alcoholic beverages.

The Deputy says while he saw 21 year old David Shephard apparently trying to hide something, another partially concealed beverage container was seen. Then a marijuana cigarette fell out of Shephard’s clothing.

A search of the vehicle turned up over two ounces of pot.

Shephard is charged with criminal possession of marijuana, possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a vehicle and an uninspected vehicle.

Passenger, 22 year old John Gabriel of Binghamton was found to be wanted by city police. Gabriel was turned over to Binghamton Police.
