Officials are investigating the cause of a two-alarm fire that destroyed a Windsor home October 3 .

Firefighters were called to John White Road at about 10:50 a.m. and found one structure fully involved and a second also on fire.

There had been reports of propane tanks involved in the blaze.

Authorities said it appears the fire started in a trailer located next to the main house.

A man who had been sleeping inside the house got out safely and there were no injuries reported to firefighters.

Over a half dozen companies responded to the call but officials say finding staff for the volunteer fire departments to answer the call was difficult since many volunteers are at their jobs.

The Firefighters Association of the State of New York recently received funding to help efforts to recruit and retain volunteers for fire departments.
