Fire investigators are looking into the cause of a three-alarm blaze that damaged a home on South Duane Avenue in Endicott shortly before 5:30 p.m. January 5 and sent two residents to the hospital with minor injuries.

The fire appears to have been centered in a first floor dining area but damage was reported throughout the house.

The American Red Cross is assisting the residents.

Fire officials say there were three children and an adult in the home at the time the alarm was sounded but the residents managed to get out before fire crews arrived.

While responding firefighters saw flames coming from a first floor window and heavy smoke when they got on the scene, the blaze was quickly put out.

The third alarm was sounded to utilize personnel and equipment from other agencies.
