Endicott Man is Accused of Lying to the Department of Defense

An Endicott man is under federal indictment for one count of knowingly and willingly making a false statement to the Department of Defense.  FBI Special Agent in Charge, Andrew Vale, has announced the arrest of 38 year old Ryan Letcher.Letcher is accused of mailing a letter to the DOD in March, 2012 claiming a defense contractor was a foreign intelligence officer, which he knew was not true.

Federal prosecutors claim it was a willful attempt to harm others.

If convicted, Letcher could face up to five years in federal prison with up to three years supervised release and a maximum fine of $250,000 with a special assessment of $100.
