An Endicott man is under indictment for not only shooting at a man in West Corners on September 24th, causing severe injuries, but also injuring a dog.

The Broome County District Attorney’s Office says 35 year old Paul Warner has been indicted by a grand jury on felony counts of attempted murder, attempted assault and assault as well as misdemeanor overdriving, torturing and injuring animals.

Officials say the dog is not seriously hurt but had eight pellets lodged under its skin.

Meanwhile, also in connection with the incident on Carl Street, 42 year old John Frey of Binghamton is charged with felony attempted assault, 45 year old Kevin Standish of Endicott is charged with felony evidence tampering and 59 year old Peter Gumaer is charged with criminal mischief in the wounding of 50 year old Timothy Mancini.

Officials say the shooting was the result of an altercation between the men.

Prosecutors say Warner could face up to 25 years in prison for a conviction on the attempted murder charge.

District Attorney Steven Cornwell issued a statement saying “Individuals who violently target Broome County residents and animals will be removed from our community and sent to State Prison.”
