Endicott Man Free From DWI Sentence Charged With DWI Again
A Broome County man, who just got out of the Tioga County Jail after serving a drunk driving sentence is back in jail in Broome County, accused of driving with a blood alcohol level at more than twice the legal limit.
Broome County Sheriff's officials say a driver on Route 17 Westbound had to be taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries after 23 year old Cory Starring of Endicott allegedly hit the other vehicle near the Endwell at 4:10 a.m. July 21, abandoned his car and ran off.
Officials say when they found Starring, he not only allegedly had a blood alcohol content of over .18%, but had a small amount of the drug, Ecstacy in his possession.
Starring is charged with felony aggravated drunk driving, felony driving with a blood alcohol level of more than .18% and misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.
Starring was sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.
Authorities say the westbound lane of Route 17 was closed for about 90 minutes following the collision.
